We are a group of mountain bikers of all abilities and ages who want to encourage you to get out and ride in the Black Hills areas of South Dakota. The Black Hills offers some of the best mountain biking in the country.
We also have many events for you to participate in, such as rides, races, meetings, special events and trail building. We want to be your source of information for all things mountain biking in the Black Hills.
Trail work is a big part of what we do as members of BHMBA. From cutting back branches at Storm Mountain to clearing downed trees at Victoria to cutting new trail at Buzzard's Roost, we're involved in maintaining and improving multi-use trails for everyone.
The BHMBA understands successful trail systems involve collaboration between land managers, volunteer groups, and other local stakeholders, such as businesses, private landowners, environmental organizations, and community leaders. Our organization works cooperatively with the US Forest Service, BLM, Rapid City Parks and Recreation, and private land owners to maintain established trails. The planning and construction of new trails on public and private lands are in contractual agreement with the agencies involved. To preserve these important relationships the BHMBA asks that you only work on approved projects.
