September 12 is the date for both running and riding at Victoria Lake. The run takes place at 9AM and the ride/race follows at 11:30AM. The course is 8.4 miles with options for either 1 or 2 laps. For directions and info on the trail check out the BHRC Trail Series website.

Last weekend, Terry Peak once again hosted a group of mountain bikers for some rare lift-assisted riding. The final weekend for riding Terry will be September 11 & 12, race weekend. Check out Terry Peak’s website for more info.
Phil and Nancy Busching are among the folks who’ve worked to promote cycling among children in the Black Hills. As a result of this work, Meadowbrook Elementary will receive a $168,000 grant under the Safe Routes to School program. Congratulations on the grant and thanks for working to promote cycling in the area.
Paul Lebelle and Adam Burkowske of Bike Free , are
riding their bikes cross-country to get bikes for military kids. They have the
support of the Rotary and the USO is helping with bike distribution.
They have biked over 2,000 miles so far and are now in Rapid City, South
Dakota.
ABOUT BIKE FREE
Terry Peak will be running the chairs to carry bikes and riders to the top for some excellent riding this summer. The weekend of August 21 & 22 will be open for riding. The weekend of September 11 will see more riding and DH races. In addition, there will be live music, the Dark Horse Saloon will be open for refreshments, and some folks will be camping up there too.
Update: The XC course has been eliminated, but the excellent DH riding is very much on.
